As I reported recently, my friend’s Dad is going to be an extra in the new Matt Damon movie, (apparently named “The Informant”), which is being filmed in Decatur and other central Illinois spots.
Over the weekend I met a former Decatur resident who now lives in Bushnell. When we talked about the movie being filmed in her home town, she said, “Yeah, I guess there’s been this thing at the mall where you can pay, like $75 and wait in line to sit next to Matt Damon at Applebee’s.”
(Or something like that.)
Perhaps even more interestingly, however: the movie might have a connection (however loose) to Forgotonia itself.
According to my Bushnell informant, this is is the scoop: one of the two men behind the ADM price-fixing scam (on which the movie is based) not only used to live in Bushnell, (which has or had an ADM plant), but also, lived right across the street from where we were standing (right across from this former Decatur resident’s house in Bushnell.)
